Andrea Fogliani
Engineer.
Designer.
Most 3D designers learned to render spaces.
I learned to build them first.
I trained as a civil and architectural engineer at Politecnico di Milano — one of Europe's leading engineering schools — and spent years delivering real construction projects across Italy and the UK before moving into 3D design and visualisation. That background is the foundation of everything I do, and what makes my work different from a designer who only knows software.
When I model your space, I read the drawings the way your structural team does. I identify problems at the 3D stage before they become expensive on site. I understand what a planning committee, an investment board, or a brand director actually needs to see — and I build the visuals around that outcome, not just around aesthetics.
"I don't just make spaces look good. I make them make sense."
After three years as a 3D artist at Universal Design Studio and Map Project Office in London — delivering high-end interior, retail, product, and experiential work for major commercial clients — I now operate independently under Fogliani Studio. I partner with architects, developers, retail brands, and experiential agencies on work that spans photorealistic CGI stills, cinematic animations, immersive VR experiences, and spatial concept design.
I work as a single practitioner. Every project is handled by me directly — no account managers, no junior handoffs. You brief me, I deliver.
Writing about
the built world.
Beyond the studio, I write about sustainable construction and alternative ways of living. Both books are independently published and available on Amazon — drawing directly on the engineering knowledge that underpins my visualisation work.
They're useful reference material for anyone working in sustainable development, modular construction, or off-grid residential projects — which also happen to be among my favourite subjects to visualise.
